I'm currently only offering in-person sessions to trusted friends and family, until I find a space to do public sessions, locally. Distance Reiki is available for everyone.
During an in-person Reiki session, you will lay fully clothed, on a Reiki table (like a massage table). The Reiki practitioner may place their hands (with your permission) gently on your body, or hover over areas of your body for a period of a few minutes each. After a series of hand positions are completed on the front of your body, you will be asked to turn onto your belly (or side if the belly is uncomfortable) so a series of hand positions may be placed on your back, behind your knees and feet. To finish up, you will again lay on your back. A pillow, bolster and/or blanket may be used to further your comfort and warmth.
Each person experiences Reiki in their own way. Some common experiences are to feel tingling or warmth from the Reiki practitioners hands as they are on or near the body. A sense of calm and relaxation may be experienced. Some people see colors or lights while their eyes are closed. Whatever you experience, it is what you are individually meant to experience. If you do not experience the things mentioned above, know that the Reiki is still doing what it is meant to do for you. Each person is different, and what it was like for one person may be unique to what you experience.
Disclaimer: Reiki does not replace professional medical care. It is recommended you see a licensed physician or licensed health care professional for any physical or psychological illness you may have. Reiki practitioners and Master/Teachers can NOT diagnosis or prescribe anything. Reiki never interferes with the treatment of a licensed medical professional, but complements all healing modalities. No Reiki practitioner of any level diagnoses any illness unless he or she is a licensed professional medical provider.
